Why We Do This

“May we so direct the education of our children, and through them again our children’s children, that when they look upon these monuments, they may imbibe that spirit of devotion to country and flag which made their ancestors ready and willing to offer their lives in the defense of the Star Spangled Banner.”

~ Sergeant F. J. Loeble
PA 98th Volunteer Infantry Monument Dedication
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
September 11, 1889

Our children are the fifth generation to learn the story of the men behind these great monuments. My hope is to bring to light the history and memory of this brave, lesser-known regiment who may otherwise be lost to history.
